Mames Babegenush - Transform

East meets North in Mames Babegenush. Strong Scandinavian roots blend with the sparkling dance music of Eastern Europe. Nordic pine forests and colorful Romanian wedding lends emotion to northern winter melancholy and ecstatic happiness. The group has spent years fine tuning their interpretation of the traditional jewish and Eastern European folk music, and they always insist on giving the music a personal touch.

They’re known as a fiery live orchestra that raise the mood and the energy. They’ve toured Europe and the US giving concerts at Carnegie Hall, Festspillene i Bergen, Roskilde Festival, Tønder Festival and the Chicago World Music Festival.

We’re thrilled to present them here in Trondheim at our grand Balkan weekend.

Emil Goldschmidt – clarinet
Lukas Rande – alt & tenor saxophone
Bo Rande – trumpet and English horn
Nicolai Kornerup – accordion
Andreas Møllerhøj – double bass
Morten Ærø – drums and cymbalom
