Seyran Ates is a Turkish-German lawyer, feminist and one of the first female imam’s in Europe. She’s fronting a sexual revolution within Islam. This is the story of Seyran’s personal and ideological fight to modernize Islam, her travels around the globe and the people she meet. From sex workers in a German brothel to Uigur LHGBTQ+-youth and traditional female imam’s in China. It is also a journey through Seyran’s life, from humble beginnings as a Muslim girl in a Turkish slum to a female leader daring to challenge her own religion.
